Prof. Basu Dev Kafle is the founding Chair of the Dept. of Special Needs Education at Tribhuvan University and the first Professor of Inclusive Education in Nepal. He was a UNESCO laureate-2008, for his outstanding achievement in the field of teacher education and research in the UNESCO regions. He did his MS, PhD and Post-Doc. in the field of special needs to inclusive education. He is credited with a number of research publications both at home and abroad. He served as Visiting Professor for BRAC University, Bangladesh, 2011, and Ludwig Maximilian University, Germany, 2016. His main area of interest and expertise is inclusion and inclusive education, educational planning and management, and social justice education.
